5.9.1 Description
The IP cartridge is used to connect the M760 and M780 sets to a LAN.
It is a PCB that is inserted into the set's cartridge slots. Its purpose is to provide transparent
operation for the set in respect to the network: all commands sent by the PBX are sent to the set.
Conversely, all replies or statuses from the set are sent to the PBX.
It is connected to the Ethernet LAN via an RJ45 connector and a 2-metre anthracite-coloured cord
with 2 RJ45 connectors at each end. Another RJ45 connector is used to connect an external
device such as a PC; in this case, the cartridge acts as a switch.
Power is either supplied to the set and fitted cartridge by an external mains unit, or via the LAN
connection, as long as the LAN has a 48 V supply.
There are two versions of IP cartridges with the same software. The only difference is the power
supply:
one version for M760 sets with a 105 mA supply,
