10.6.1.3 Overview of the parameters
Remark on menu control
In the profile configuration and access data windows, press the arrow keys briefly to move up the
cursor one in a field. Press the keys longer to access the following field.
You can make the following entries in the profile. Please respect the data with which you have
configured the WLAN. While making the entry, change from input lines to selection lines using the
arrow keys then finish the profile configuration by pressing

Profile name : Enter a name (any one) for this new profile. You can make corrections using the
“C” key.
Region : Using the left function key , select the region you want from the list of proposed
regions. Press the arrow key to access the other entries.
SSID (network name) : Enter the SSID.
Security : Using the left function key , select the encoding method you want from the list of
possibilities (WEP, WPA1-PSK, WPA2-PSK or Without security). Press the arrow key to access the
other entries.
WEP key or WPA key : If you have selected WEP, WPA1-PSK or WPA2-PSK, you must enter the
key in the corresponding field. During the entry, the key appears as clear text; when you exit and
reactivate the input mask, it is replaced by stars *****. To correct a key, you must enter it again.
Always use the first WEP key as default value for the AP and also use this key in the device
settings.
Power saving mode : This setting is used to indicate the WLAN power saving mode to use during
voice communications. Generally, the Auto setting mode is the most appropriate mode. Not all the
APs support all the power saving modes. Aastra Phone 312 is often unable to automatically detect
the best power saving mode reliably. In such cases, it is preferable to select a mode manually.
