5.3.9.6 Duplicating connections to the IP, LAN or WAN network
Thanks to its integration into the motherboard, the integrated 10/100 Base T Ethernet port is
duplicated. Therefore, all the applications which use this port to connect to the PBX benefit from this
IP link security. After motherboard switchover, the IP address of this integrated port remains the
same but the MAC address changes.
In case of Telephony over IP, EIP cards integrated in the motherboard or PT2+VoIP cards or a mix of
both cards can be used:
• An UCV2D motherboard can be fitted with two EIP daughter boards. These boards have to be
duplicated on the second motherboard.
• PT2+VoIP can be duplicated together in order to ensure 100% availability of VoIP processing
capacities. Therefore, the number of PT2+VoIP pairs required for a standard capacity must be
increased by one unit. Thus, if any of the PT2 cards fails, the remaining capacity will still be
equal to the capacity actually required.
The integrated servers are duplicated as well:
• DHCP server
• FTP/TFTP server
• SNTP server
• LDAP Directory
