5.4 Integrated services on the motherboard
5.4.1 Native IP port
The Aastra range has 2 connections to an Ethernet 10/100BASE-TX network, embedded on the
motherboard. These interfaces allow you to:
Connect audio and video IP/SIP terminals
connect an AM7450 administration tool or a billing application,
connect a Windows attendant consoles : i2070
set up a hyper terminal connection
provide for MOVACS / IP networking to transport signaling and semaphore channels in multi-
site configurations
use the CTI offer: TAPI / CSTA or hotel/hospital front office connection
connect applications using the VTI/XML protocol over IP: Dialer, TWP, i2070
Those interfaces are available on a RJ45 connector on the front panel, with its control LEDs.
In order to be able to route telephone calls over IP, an EIP daughterboard must be added on the
motherboard (up to two EIP boards).
It is also possible to add a PT2 expansion card equipped with a VoIP daughterboard.
5.4.2 Using the ETH2 port
The new functions of ETH2 port allow the second UCV2 Ethernet port to be used according to the
customer's need. Three operating modes are possible:
Separation of administration / user flows
Double attachment: to secure the LAN access
Port mirroring: for troubleshooting.
Only one of these operating modes may be activated at a time.
5.4.3 Separating administration / user flows
Sharing the administrative flows from the user’s ones over the company’s networks or the managing
networks are possible, this increase the global security from the network and is available on the native
AX Series’ data Ethernet accesses.
This feature needs an additional IP address configuration for the administrative network (managing
firewalls) and 2 physical data accesses over 2 data switches.
« LAN » port for the user’s flows
« ETH2 » port for the administrative flows
