5.4.5 Integrated buffer
The Aastra range provides an integrated buffer function embedded on the motherboard, this buffer is
able to store tickets, and gives the opportunity to an external billing application to import them.

The memory assigned to the billing tickets can be configured. Furthermore, it is also possible to
compress the tickets, this compression enhance the ticket storage capacity.

integrated server is able to stored 4 or 5 days of issued tickets
.
5.4.6 i-Button dongle
A removable i-Button dongle from Dallas Semiconductors (DS-1971) is available on the UCV card. It is
used to store and authenticate the identification number of the Aastra used for unlocking optional
software functions.
This i-Button dongle is the main element of the new maintenance procedure. When replacing a UCV
card or an Aastra X series, restoring the software configuration of the new UCV card and moving the
"iButton" to the new card is enough to retrieve the same functional configuration, and this without any
other intervention. Every product bought is delivered with its i-Button. A maintenance motherboard is
delivered without an i-Button.
