5.4.3.1 Securing the IP link - Double attachment
All Aastra 5000 Server and Aastra X Series devices may be configured to secure the IP link through a
network double attachment.
In this case, the LAN port is the main IP network access port when this port is valid.
The "ETH2" IP port of the UCV on the front panel may then be used as backup port:
If the port is valid and the main port is busy
There is a switchover to the main port once it becomes operational again.
During the switchover from one port to the other, the gateway IP address and MAC address remain
unchanged.
During a switchover, all phone calls between IP terminals or TDM terminals are fully maintained. They
are also maintained between IP and TDM terminals, with a slight voice interruption during the
switchover.
Configuring double attachment requires making some configurations on AMP of the gateway. On the
infrastructure side, it also requires making distinct connections to the LAN.
