RS-485 to SCADA
The RS-485 can be used in full- or half-duplex mode (see Figure 5 and Figure 6 on page 23). All
signals on RS-485 (J18) are isolated.
NOTICE
Use only shielded cable for wiring the RS-485 interface.

The RS-485 interface is intended to be used in point-to-point mode. There is no need to add a 120 Ω
termination on the receiver (Rx); the resistor is present on board. The transmitter (Tx) must be
terminated at the other end.
Other RS-485 topologies are not supported.
Ethernet to SCADA
ABB recommends a Cat5 Ethernet cable. Its maximum length must not exceed 100 m.
