GSD file ASCII-format device description file in a
specified form. Each different slave type on the
PROFINET IO network needs to have its own
GSD file. GSD files in PROFINET IO are written
in GSDML.

Parameter Value that can be accessed as an object, eg,

Parameter/Process Special object that contains parameter and

Process data Data that contains Control word and reference
value or Status word and actual value. May also
contain other (user-definable) control
information.
Slave Passive bus participant. In PROFINET IO
terminology, slave stations (or slaves) are also
called passive stations. Also referred to as
node.
Warning Signal caused by an existing alarm which does
not lead to tripping of the device
