Do this as follows:
 If the meter is on, press the Test button to turn it off.
 Wait for the motor to stop.
 Wipe the test strip guide with a cotton swab lightly moistened with
cold water or 70 % ethanol.
 Place your thumb into the recess below the drum compartment
cover and fold the drum compartment cover upwards.
