Power Sweep Operation
The power sweep function allows the power output to be swept
(p ositive or negative) when the swept signal generator is in the
CW frequency mo de. The p ower output of the swept signal
generator determines the maximum leveled power sweep that can b e
accomplished. For this example, refer to the \Menu Map" section.
Zero and calibrate the p ower meter.
Connect the instruments as shown in Figure 1-10 .

Set the p ower meter to dB[REF] mo de.
The swept signal generator is ready to pro duce a 4 GHz CW signal
at 0 dBm p ower out, with a 2 second sweep rate whenever a single
sweep is executed. The p ower meter is ready to measure the po
wer
level relative to a starting p oint of 0 dBm.

This time the power meter indicates less than the power sweep
requested. Note that the swept signal generator is unleveled,
UNLVD
.
This happ ens because the swept signal generator's output power
at the start of the sweep is 0 dB and the requested power sweep
takes the swept signal generator beyond the range where it is able to
pro duce leveled power. The range of the p ower sweep is dependent
on the ALC range and can b e oset if a step attenuator (Option 001)
is present.
