D Measurement Uncertainty Analysis - Instrument Accuracy Test
D-156 E4416A/E4417A Power Meters Service Guide
Worst case error on 15.8 V maximum power setting
Error = ((10 ppm × 15.8 V) + (0.3 ppm × 100.0 V)) + (0.5 ppm × 15.8 V) +
5((0.15 ppm × 15.8 V) + (0.1 ppm × 100 V))
= 257.75 μV
Percentage Error = 0.00163%
The relationship between the applied voltage from the Universal Source to the
corresponding power is given from:
1 mW = 0.14493 mV
This is a linear relationship, for example, 0.1 mW is equal to 0.014493 volts.
This relationship is valid between 0 dBm and
30 dBm.
However, above 0 dBm a look up table is used for voltage to mW conversion.
This is due to the sensors non linear behavior at higher power levels. The
voltage correction at the appropriate points is shown in Table D- 2.
