Making a New Directory
To make a new directory use the mkdir command. You may specify a path for the new directory. Other-
wise, the new directory will be created in your current directory. The syntax for this command requires a
slash (/) and no space between the path and the new directory name. Also, a slash (/) is required at the
beginning of your path specification.
Note. Your login account must have write privileges to execute the mkdir command.
The following command makes a new directory in the working directory on the OmniSwitch 6800:
-> mkdir /flash/working/newdir1
This drawing represents the content of the /flash/working directory after the new directory is added.
Note. The output on OmniSwitch 6850 and OmniSwitch 9000 switches is similar.
