ALPHATOOL PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE
The DLM-600 dialer is programmed using the AlphaTool software version 2.4 or higher. A connection
between the DLM-600 dialer and the computer with AlphaTool software can be established in two ways:
via a local serial (RS-232) connection using a programming cable (art.code 003834) or remotely via a
dial-up modem.
Note: AlphaTool software must at least V2.4 or higher!
It is recommended to first create a client in AlphaTool before establishing the connection with the DLM-
600 dialer. For information regarding creating or modifying client details, see AlphaTool manual.
LOCAL SERIAL (RS-232) CONNECTION
Connect the RS-232 programming cable (art. code. 003834) to the boxed header (J8) of the DLM-600.
From the AlphaTool menu bar, select the Connect option. The ‘Connect’ screen appears:

Connect
Choose in the pull-down menu for the option ‘Local’.
Com port
Select the correct COM port of your computer / laptop where the programming cable from the DLM-600
is connected.
Device phone number
For a local (serial) connection the device phone number setting is not applicable.
Installer code
Make sure the Installer code programmed in AlphaTool matches the Installer code programmed in the
DLM-600 dialer. The default installer code in the DLM-600 is: 1234.
Download code
The Download code is not necessary for a local (serial) connection.
If all is filled in correctly, then click OK. The AlphaTool software now waits for an initiative of the DLM-
600 dialer to establish the connection.
