The ME580 series models are lit by a halogen bulbs, which provide great color integrity and illuminaon, but
do need replacement over me as they burn out. Single lit models (ME580B and ME580T) models only have a
light bulb in the upper illuminaon channel, which is replaced by our SKU: BH-6V30W (Philips #5761).
To replace this bulb, simply loosen the locking screw on the illuminaon housing, slide the light housing out,
and remove the bulb by pulling vercally. Replace in reverse order.
For -2L models, there is also an illuminator at the boom of the unit, underneath the stage, used for illuminat-
ing biological and translucent samples. This uses the same BH-6V30 bulb, however, is changed dierently.
To change the lower illuminator bulb, simply twist to remove the base illuminator lens, allowing access to the
bulb housing.
Be sure to always use a clean cloth, wipe, or glove when handling bulbs as to prevent oils from adhering to the
bulb, which can cause visual distorons or shorten the bulb life, even potenally causing it to break enrely
when heated.
