With the lid opened fully, grasp the dust separator, which has the filter
located in the top, and pull straight up and out.
Remove the filter from the dust separator. The filter is a firm fit in the top
of the dust separator so as to seal properly, so may require a little force
to remove it.
Note: Only wash the filter if it is very dirty, otherwise just tap the edge of
the filter on a hard surface to dislodge any dust and remove any large
debris.
