In the top right corner, select “Options” once. It will change to “Get Options”.
Select “Get Options”; quickly place ELT switch in test mode and release. (*Quickly is <1
second)
If successful, the programmer will read the currently programmed baud rate and
show “GPS Baud 4800 or “GPS Baud 9600. If the baud rate is correct, select
return. If not, change the baud rate. Momentarily hold ELT in test mode; quickly
tap on “Set”, and release. Programmer should state “Successfully programmed
speed”. Select “Return”.
If failed, programmer will state “Failed to read GPS speed”. If failed, select “Return”
and start NOTE 1 over.
NOTE 2: For the ELT 3000 and ELT 4000, there are options that must be set
manually.
In the top right corner, select “Options” once. It will change to “Get Options”.
For the ELT 3000, 121.5 MHz and 243 MHz will be selected.
For the ELT 4000, only “121.5 MHz” will be selected.
Select either “Serial”, “A429 High” or “A429 Low”.
Set “Prog. Adapter” to “Enabled” if using programming adapter A3-06-2868.
“Disabled” is not using a programming adapter.
Set “ARINC Speed” to “High” or “Low” depending on the speed the GPS will be
communicating with the ELT 3000 or ELT 4000.
After the above items are selected, tap on “Set”. The programmer will state
“Successfully programmed options”. If failed, the programmer will state “Failed to
program options”.
