Installation procedure

Procedure
1. Prepare the installation site. If you have not already done so, carefully read the chapter describing Site
preparation and switch installation precautions
2. Verify that the switch passes self-test.
3. Mount the switch.
4. Connect power to the switch.
5. Connect the network devices.
6. (Optional) Install SFP transceivers. Depending on where you install the switch, it may be easier to
install the SFPs rst. SFPs can be hot-swapped—they can be installed or removed while the switch is
powered on.
