3.1.2 IGMP Snooping
IGMP snooping is required for correct operation of IP microphones in systems containing VIPEDIA-12-PRO
and/or INTEGRA-PRO units.
Each network switch that has an IP microphone connected requires IGMP snooping.
To enable IGMP snooping:
1. In the navigation tree, expand the “Advanced Settings” item.
2. Select “IGMP Snooping” and select the “General Settings” tab.
3. Set “IGMP Snooping State” to “Enable”.
4. Set “Report Suppression State” to “Enable”.
5. Set “IGMP Snooping VLAN State” to “Add” and enter the VLAN number (set to “1”, unless otherwise
required).
6. Ensure “Unknown Multicast Packets” is set to “Flooding” (default setting).
7. Click “Apply”.
The IP microphone(s) must be connected to a NETWORK-SWITCH-LP01, not any other network
port on the system (e.g. a VIPEDIA-12 or Network Card Ethernet port).
VIPEDIA OFFLINE or MIC COMMS faults may occur if IGMP snooping or IGMP querier is not
configured as described in this section.
Microphones may not respond to user input and two blue VU LEDs may be stuck on.
