General terminology
Term Description
– Lock pocket The lock pocket is the recess in the door for the mounting plate of the
mortise lock.
– Profile cylinder cutout The electronic knob cylinder C100V3 is installed in the profile cylinder
cutout and screwed into place with the cylinder fixing screw. The
shape of the profile cylinder cutout may vary. In exceptional cases,
the half-cylinder must be removed from the knob in order to be
able to install the electronic knob cylinder C100V3 (“Installing the half-
cylinder”, page42).
– ID media The ID media is normally a chip or a chip card, such as an RFID card.
The ID media is held against the electronic knob cylinder C100V3 for
identification.
– Hub A hub is a network connection through which multiple devices are
connected to a data network.
