5.15 - Emergency starting function with VAS 5051
The emergency starting function enables a stranded vehicle with disabled immobilizer to be released and driven
to the nearest Audi Dealership.
Requirements:
• Customers must be able to furnish proof of vehicle ownership by way of vehicle documents and appropriate
identification.
• Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 connected up and vehicle self-diagnosis se‐

Sequence of operations
- Establish immobilizer identification number by starting immobilizer self-diagnosis => Page 140 .
- On the basis of the 14-position immobilizer identification number, request 7-digit PIN from appropriate Sales
Centre/importer.
Note:
The PIN is only valid for one day, after which a new number has to be requested. The PIN is of no use to the
customer or other dealerships.
