Instrument panel illumination
The illumination of the instruments, displays and the
center console can be adjusted.

Ignition ON, light switch at @ .
With the ignition switched ON, the g low of instrument needles can
be adjus t ed to appea r brighte r or dimmer .

With the ligh t s switched on, t he br ightness of ins tr ument clus t er (i.e.
needles, gauges and d isp lays) and center console illumination can be
adjus t ed.

The instr umen t cluster and cen t er console illumination (ga uges and
need les) comes on when you sw itch on the ignition and the
vehicle
headlights are off.
Be aware of the following difference between
models built to US or Canadian specifica t ions :
• USA models: illumination of the instrument cluster (gauge s and
needl es), dash and center console around the gearshift lever is
co ntrolled by a light sensor located in the instrument panel. The

instrument pan el illum ination will autom atically become dimmer
as the daylight fade s away and eventu ally will go out completel y
when outside light is very low . This is to remind you , the driver, to
switch on the headlight s before it get s too dark.
• Canada models : instrument panel illumination will st ay bright
regardle ss of the inten s ity of ambient light . Always be aware of
chang es in out side light cond itions while you are driving . Respond
in time to fading daylight by turn ing the light switch to position

(or "AUTO" if your car is equipped with this feature) to turn on your
headlights . •
Emergency flasher

The emergency flasher makes other motorists aware that
you or your vehicle are in an emergency situation .

When the emergency flasher is on, all fo ur tu rn signal blink at the
same time. The t urn signal indicator lights ¢ c:> in the instrument
cluster, as well as the light in the emergency flasher switch

likewise .
The emerge ncy flasher will au t oma t ically sw itch on if yo u are in an
acc ident where the airbag has dep loyed.
