9. Type the same password for read-write access in the Re-enter to verify box.

Variable definitions
Use the data in the following table to configure the console switch password.
Variable Value
Console Stack Password Type Specifies the type of password to use.
Values include:
• none—disables the password
• Local Password— uses the locally defined
password for serial console access.
• RADIUS Authentication— uses RADIUS
authentication for serial console access.
• TACACS Authentication— uses TACACS
+ authentication, authorization, and
accounting (AAA) services authentication
for console access.
Read-Only Stack Password Specifies the read-only password for stack or
switch access.
Read-Write Stack Password Specifies the read-write password for stack
or switch access.
Configuring the Web and Telnet password using EDM
Use the following procedure to configure a password for Web and Telnet access to a stack, or
standalone switch.
