Parking brake lever:
It is located on left hand side of driver seat on Left Hand drive vehicles &
it is located on right hand side of driver seat on Right Hand drive vehicles.
a. Parking -To apply the parking brake, pull the lever up fully.
b. Release - To release it, pull the lever up slightly, press the release button(Figure: b) and push the lever
down. Mechanical parking brake acts only on the rear wheels.
Warning:
- When parking the vehicle on a steep slope, do not rely on the parking brake alone to hold the vehicle.
- Leave the vehicle parked with gear box in low forward gear and turn the wheels towards the road
when facing uphill.
- While facing downhill, engage reverse gear and turn the wheels away from the road.
- Driving with the parking brake in fully/partially engaged condition can cause the brake system to
overheat and may result in premature wear, loss of braking function or damage to brake system
components.
- Always check that the parking brake is fully released before moving the vehicle.
- Indicator provided on instrument console displays parking brake “ON”.
