4C. FUEL SAVING TIPS
Vehicle fuel economy is mainly dependent on
A. Vehicle maintenance.
• Service vehicle regularly as per recommended service schedule & use genuine parts only.
• Always maintain clean air-filter.
• Maintain correct tyre pressures.
B. Style of driving
• Warm up the engine for a few minutes before driving off.
• Ride smoothly & steadily at a speed of 40 to 50 kmph.
• Always shift to a higher gear before reaching the engine speed/rpm limit.
• Drive in Top gear as far as possible.
• Keep safe distance with the vehicle in front to avoid collision in case of sudden braking.
• Switch to Neutral gear & turn off the engine during long wait at stop lights.
• Avoid unnecessary driving at High speeds.
• Avoid sudden acceleration & braking.
• Do not rest your foot on Brake or Clutch pedals during driving.
C. Use recommended Fuel & Lubricants
• Fill fuel during cooler time of the day. Early morning or evening is preferred.
• Make sure the fuel cap is properly tightened.
