Spark plug cleaning & replacement:
Ÿ Ensure engine is in cold condition. Disconnect the spark plug caps
Ÿ Using spark plug spanner, remove the spark plugs
Ÿ Be sure foreign particles do not enter the spark plug hole.
Ÿ Inspect the spark plugs. Replace the plug if the insulator is cracked or broken.
Ÿ Using a very fine wire brush, clean the ground and central electrodes.
Ÿ After cleaning, adjust the gap as below
- Central : Champion RER6YCA Gap - 0.8 to 0.9 mm
- Side : Champion RG4HC Gap - 0.6 to 0.7 mm
Ÿ Install each spark plug with recommended tool & tighten to specifications.
Ÿ Fit spark plug cap firmly over the spark plug.
Note:
When replacing new spark plugs, the entire set of 2 should be replaced at same time.
Caution:
Ensure to fix right spark plugs at right places. Central & side spark plugs are not interchangeable.
