1.3 SIL Application
The XMT1000 with appropriate flow meter selection can be a SIL2 ultrasonic flowmeter (sensor) with the capability of
providing a SIL3 system in a redundant design configuration. The XMT1000 with either PanaFlow HT, LZ, Z3, or LC
system is IEC61508 certified through a complete design validation from a third party organization. By achieving a
third party certification, we have proven the required design rigor through the product safety lifecycle, and the
implementation of functional safety management. This added design, manufacturing, and control rigor ensures that
it is the optimal ultrasonic flowmeter for your safety or process control system.
CAUTION! Only qualified/trained personnel are allowed tochange and validate safety
parameters. Please refer to the XMT1000 safety manual for details on these parameters.
