Default G ateway
A server (or router) to comm unicate across networks (subnets) that a re divided by Subnet Mask.
DHCP
Abbreviation for D ynam ic H ost Configuration Protocol. This protocol automatically assigns IP Addr ess to networked devices.
IP Address
Numerical address to identify networked com puters.
MAC Address
Abbreviation for Media Access Control Address. MAC Address is a unique ID number assigned to each network adapter. And this
is based o n which data are s ent and received between network adapters.
Subnet Mask
A num eric value to de fine the number of bits used for a network address of a divided network (or subnet) in an IP Address.
