9.1 Password function
About the password function
This projector is equipped with the password function that is designed for prevention of wrong oper
ation by children and restriction
on operation by other than specified users. The password function has 3 m odes as follows.
DISPLAY INPUT W hen the projector is turned on, the startup screen (or splash screen) will appear and stay on the screen
until the password is entered. When the password is entered, the s tartup screen will switch to the r egular
operation screen.
MENU ACCES S All the k eys except fo r the PO W ER key on the projector are disabled. (The keys on the remote control
are enabled.) You can use this mode as a meas ure of prevention of wrong operation by children an
d
restriction on operation b y other than specified users.

SCREEN
IMAGE CAP TURE and S PLASH SCREEN in the INSTALLATION 2 m enu become unavailable. SPLASH
SCREEN will be set to ON automatically.
9.1.1 Enabling the password function
How to enable
1. Display the FEATURE m enu.
2. Press the ▲ or ▼ key to select PA SSWORD FUNCTION.
3. Press the ◄ or ► key to c hange the m ode among DISPLAY INPUT
, MENU ACCESS an d SPLA SH ID SCRE EN .
When the password has already been set, the mode won’t be changed. In such c ases, pres s the ENTER key to cancel the
password function and try again.
4. Press the ENTER key.
The s creen for setting the password function will appear.

6. Enter a 4 - 8 digit password us ing the ▲, ►, ▼ and ◄ keys.
(▲=1, ►=2, ▼=3, ◄=4)
7. Press the ENTER key.
To cancel the procedure, press the MENU key.
8. Enter the password again for confirmation using the same steps.
9. Press the ENTER key.
→ If the entered passwords don’t match, an error mess age will appear.
→ To cancel the procedure, press the MENU key.
