4.12 Adjust Hydraulic Relief Valve
If engine stalls when simultaneously pushing into
a pile and raising boom, relief valve may need to
be adjusted.
1. Loosen knobs (A) and pivot hydraulic oil cooler
upward. Engage pin to hold cooler in open
position.

2. Remove access cover on rear of engine
compartment and loosen jam nut (B) on boom
valve with 17 mm wrench.

3. Insert 5 mm hex wrench down through access
hole (C) on control panel and into hex screw
on boom valve.

4. Hold locknut (B) with wrench and rotate hex
adjustment screw 1/4 turn counter clockwise.
Tighten locknut (B), install cover, close oil
cooler, start engine and test operation.
5. Repeat step 4 again until engine does not stall
when pushing into a pile and raising boom.
6. For using other attachments, you will need
to set relief back to 3000 psi for maximum
performance for those attachments.
