Maintenance overview
Introduction This topic provides an overview of the BD FACSCelesta flow
cytometer routine maintenance and cleaning procedures.
General use
guidelines
Follow these guidelines whenever operating or maintaining the
cytometer:
• Wear suitable protective clothing, eyewear, and gloves.
• Handle all biological specimens and materials in accordance
with applicable regulations and manufacturer specifications.
• Dispose of waste using proper precautions and in accordance
with local regulations.
• Never pipette by mouth.
For fluidics maintenance, we recommend the following cleaning
solutions:
•BD™ FACSClean solution
• 1.5% BD Detergent Solution Concentrate
• 10% bleach solution
Use DI water to dilute bleach to appropriate concentrations.
Caution: Biohazard! Contact with biological specimens
and materials can transmit potentially fatal disease.
Caution! Higher concentrations of bleach and use of
other cleaning solutions might damage the cytometer.
