4. Re-install the retainer and outer sleeve over the sample
injection tube. Push the outer sleeve all the way up into the
sample injection port and then screw the retainer into place
and tighten to finger tight. This will seat the Bal seal.
5. Install a sample tube on the SIP to ensure that the outer sleeve
has been properly installed.
If the sleeve hits the bottom of the tube, loosen the retainer
slightly and push the sleeve up as far as it will go. Tighten the
retainer.
Changing the sample tube O-ring
Introduction This topic describes how to replace the sample tube O-ring.
The sample tube O-ring, located within the retainer, forms a seal
that allows the droplet containment vacuum to function properly.
When to replace
the O-ring
Replace the O-ring when droplets form at the end of the sample
injection tube while the vacuum is operating.
Caution
Procedure To change the O-ring:
1. Remove the outer sleeve from the sample injection tube by
turning the retainer counter-clockwise.
Caution: Biohazard! Cytometer hardware might be
contaminated with biohazardous material. Wear suitable
protective clothing, eyewear, and gloves whenever
cleaning the cytometer or replacing parts.
