Cytometer troubleshooting
Introduction This topic describes possible problems and recommended solutions
for BD
FACSymphony A3 and BD FACSymphony A5 flow
cytometer issues.
Droplets are visible
on the SIP
Possible causes Recommended solutions
Worn O-ring in the retainer Replace the O-ring. See Changing the
sample tube O-ring (page 60).
Outer sleeve is not seated in
the retainer
1. Loosen the retainer.
2. Push the outer sleeve up into the
retainer until seated.
3. Tighten the retainer.
Outer sleeve is not on the
sample injection tube
Replace the outer sleeve.
1. Loosen the retainer.
2. Slide the outer sleeve over the
sample injection tube until it is
seated.
3. Tighten the retainer.
Waste line is pinched,
preventing proper aspiration
Check the waste line.
Waste tank is full Empty the waste tank.
Droplet containment vacuum
is not functioning
Call your BD service representative.
The mode is not set to HTS. Change the mode to HTS by pressing
down the Mode button for more than
3 seconds.
