Troubleshooting
The Sunfire Theater Grand Processor is
expertly designed and built to provide years of
trouble-free performance. Most problems that
occur can usually be solved by checking your
setup or making sure that the audio and video
components connected to the processor are
on and fully operational.
The following information will help you
deal with common setup problems you may
experience during normal use of your unit. If
the problems still persist, please contact your
Sunfire Dealer for assistance.
No sound from one or more
speakers
Speaker cables may have come
undone. Turn off your system and
check the cables
The volume level is low for the chan-
nels concerned. Recheck the Calibra-
tion procedure.
The Mute switch is on
The correct surround mode is not
selected
The external processor loop may be
engaged. Press and hold the PANEL
DIM button for 3 seconds to turn this off.
No sound from the subwoofer
SUB switch on the rear panel is off
SUB is not switched on in the Sur-
round setup menu (accessed using
the remote control)
Poor Tuning of Radio Stations
The antenna may be incorrectly fitted
Stations are not correctly tuned in
The station is weak or has gone off-air
You can improve reception by using
different antennas. Some cable TV
feeds offer FM reception as well.
Full Automatic Operation does
not work
In order to automatically choose the new
input source, this mode senses the following
active signals:
Left audio signals
Video signal
Digital signals
Note that LD or DVD players sometimes
put out digital signals even when the disc is
paused or stopped. Make sure that any
sources are turned off when not in use.
If you are listening to a mono source,
make sure it connects to a left input, or use a
Y cord to feed both left and right inputs.
There is no automatic selection of the
Phono input.
Surround Settings and Input
Settings do not work correctly
The Theater Grand Processor is a
microprocessor controlled device and there
may be occasions when interference or power
failure of the AC line may cause it to lockup or
act erratically. We suggest you take a small
pen and press the RESET button on the lower
left of the front panel. This will return the
microprocessor to its factory setting.
CAUTION: This will clear all of your tuner
presets, the calibration, delay adjustments, tone
control settings and any other custom settings
youve made on your Theater Grand Processor.
Use RESET as a last resort if other steps to
restore normal operation do not succeed.
Note: There is another RESET method:
Unplug the power cord from the wall socket.
While holding down the POWER button on the
front panel, plug the cord back in. Release the
POWER button after a few seconds and the
Theater Grand Processor will have been reset
(all your settings are cleared, see caution note).
