4.4 For Configuration 806 (PMSM): Self-configuration of resolver offset
During first commissioning, the position of the rotor winding of the resolver is adjusted to the rotor
displacement angle of the synchronous motor by adjusting an offset. For operating a PMSM with re-
solver, the offset must be adjusted in order to obtain perfectly true running and a maximum torque.
4.4.1 Carrying out of the self-setup
For self-setup of the resolver offset, a separate setup routine is available.
• Start VPlus setup window, see Chapter 4.2 “Motor setup”.
• Set Parameter
Voltage Constant 383 to 0.0.
• Set Parameter
SETUP Select 796 to Operation Mode “55x – Para-Ident. Resolver Offset only,
DSx”.
• Release brake, if applicable.
• Start setup.
The machine will turn slowly until the reference pulse is detected reliably. By test pulses, the resolver
offset is determined and entered automatically in Parameter
Offset 382.

Once the resolver offset has been set, the machine with speed sensor feedback is ready for run.
