Design categories:
The design categories are as follows:
Design category C: The craft has been designed for voyages where conditions up to and
including wind force 6 (Beaufort scale) may be experienced (a wind force of approximately 14
metrespersecond,asignicantwaveheightof2metresormorewithatemporarypeakwave
height of 4 metres). These conditions may be experienced during voyages on large lakes,
estuaries, and, in moderate weather conditions, on coastal waters .
Design category D: The craft has been designed for voyages where conditions up to and
including wind force 4 (Beaufort scale) may be experienced (a wind force of approximately 8
metrespersecond,asignicantwaveheightof0,3metresormorewithatemporarypeakwave
height of 0,5 metres). These conditions may be experienced during voyages on sheltered lakes,
rivers, and, in good weather, on coastal waters.
NB! The'signicantwaveheight'referstoanaverageheightbasedonthehighestone-thirdofthewaveprole,
corresponding roughly to the wave height observed by an experienced mariner. Individual waves may be
twice as high.
Principal dimensions and capacities:
Boat dimensions including length, beam, draught, gross weight and fuel tank capacity are
speciedinAppendix2(Technicalspecications).
Builder's plate:
Thebuilder'splate,whichismountednearthesteeringconsole,containssomeofthe
informationspeciedabove.Detailedinformationthatsupplementstheinformationprovidedon
the plate is given in the relevant sections of this manual.
5.3 Maximum recommended number of people
The boats' seats are shown in Appendix 1, Figure 1.
The maximum permitted number of people is as follows:
WARNING Do not exceed the maximum permitted number of people. Regardless of the number of people on the boat,
the total weight of the people and equipment must not exceed the maximum permitted load (see sections
5.2 and 5.4). Always use the seats on the boat.
