5.10.5 Trailer transportation
Theboat'sweightfortrailertransportationistheboat'sdryweightplustheweightoftheengine,
battery, fuel, additional equipment, and any luggage. The amount of bilge water (if any) must
also be taken into account. See Appendix 2 (Technical Information) for the calculated trailer
transportation weight.
When lifting your Buster onto a trailer, make sure the trailer is suitable for the boat and has
asucientnumberofsupportguidestoreducepointloads.Makesurethatthetrailer'sload-
bearingcapacityissucientfortheboat(includingtheengine,battery,equipment,andfuel).
Yourcar'sregistrationcerticatespeciesthemaximumpermittedtrailerweight.
Removeallexcessloadandbilgewaterbeforeliftingtheboatontoatrailer.Adjustthetrailer's
longside support guides so that the main weight of the boat rests on the keel support. Lift your
boatontoatrailerbytheeyeontheboat'sstemonly.Theothermooringpointscannotwithstand
theboat'sweightduringlifting.Fastentheboatsecurelytothetrailerbeforetransportingthe
boat. Make sure the fastening lines prevent sideways movement as well as movement back
and forth. Protect the boat by inserting a pad between the boat and the fastening lines where
necessary. Also consult the engine manual for further trailer transportation guidelines.
Hint: any water remaining in the bilge can be emptied through the rear plug when the boat is on
the trailer. Remember to attach the rear plug before launching the boat from the trailer.
NB! Make sure the trailer is rated for the weight of the boat and that the towing vehicle may be used to tow the
combinedweightoftheboatandthetrailer.Alsomakesureyourdriver'slicenceallowsyoutodrivethe
combination of your vehicle and the heavy trailer.
NB! The weight of the trailer should rest slightly on the towing bar. Ensure that the boat has been fastened
sucientlytightlytothetrailerandthattheboat'sweightisdistributedevenlyontheguides.Iftheboatrolls
from side to side during transportation, it will crash against individual supports, potentially damaging the hull.
WARNING! Apoorlymaintainedboattraileroratrailerwithinsucientload-bearingcapacitycouldbreakdownduring
transportandcauseahazard.Ensurethatthetrailer'sload-bearingcapacityissucientforthecombined
weight of the boat, the engine, the fuel and the equipment.
6 Maintenance, repairs and docking

treating damaged surfaces.
In the event of engine failure or problems with other equipment, the primary point of contact is
the manufacturer of the equipment in question.
NB! Ifperformedincorrectly,retrotsoralterationsmaycausedamagetotheboat'sstructures,exposeitto
galvanizationorspontaneouscorrosion,orendangersafety.Makesurethatyouonlyusecleaningagents,
surfacetreatments,andpaintsthatarecompatiblewithaluminum.ContactanauthorizedBusterdealer
before you make (or have made) any new electrical connections, hatches, or holes, install any equipment,
or combine any other metals or alloys with aluminum.
