at regular intervals.
Backwashing is carried out automatically after
a preset time interval according to the eective
principle of backwashing by suction (suction-ring
backwashingsystem).

The pressure dierence between the untreated
waterinletandthetreatedwateroutletofthelter
is measured.
The backwashing process is triggered primarily by
dierentialpressure.
If heavy soiling ofthe lter element causes the
pressure dierence to exceed the preset value
(approx.0.8bar)withinthepresetbackwashinter-
val,thedierentialpressuregeneratorcausesthe
unit to backwash. The preset backwash interval
starts again.
