SOFTENER WORKING PRINCIPLE
A softener works as shown in the diagram here below:

Within the treating column

the softening resin

captures the ions Calcium
and Magnesium, res-
ponsible of the hardness,

exchanging them to So-
dium.

before sodium misses,
the electronic controller
triggers the regeneration of
the resin
with regenerant salt
stored within the salt tank
and mixed with water to
generate brine.
