Troubleshooting
Area Malfunction Possible cause Corrective action
Lighting
system
Head lamp failure * Improper wiring Connect properly.
* Bulb is disconnected. Replace.
* Blown fuse Replace.
Grass cutter
devices
Mown grass not discharged
well
* Wet grass Perform the operation after
grass becomes dry.
* Grass too long Mow twice with a higher
mowing height
* Mowing height too low Set the mower to a higher
mowing height.
* Low engine speed Set the mower to the
maximum motor speed.
* High work speed Work more slowly.
Some grass is left unmown. * High work speed Work more slowly.
* Low engine speed Set the mower to the
maximum motor speed.
(Check engine speed.)
* Grass too long Mow twice.
* Wear and breakage of cutter Replace the blade with a
new one. (See page 47)
* Accumulation of grass on the
internal surface of the rotary
cover
Clean the internal surface of
the rotary cover.
The mower cuts into the
soil.
* Mowing height too low Set the mower to a higher
mowing height. (See page
23)
* High swing speed Reduce swing speed.
* Ground contours Change the mowing pattern.
(mowing direction, etc.)
* Too many bumps and dips in
the ground
Set the mower to a higher
mowing height.
* Bent mowing blade Replace the blade with a
new one. (See page 47)
Rotary cutter blade does not
rotate.
* Broken driving pin for cutter
blade driving propeller shaft
Replace the driving pin.
* Slip in the rotary cutter V-belt Adjust the tension of the
V-belt.
Extreme shaking * Grass accumulated in the
rotary cover and pulley
Clean the rotary cover and
pulley.
* Damaged belt Replace the belt with a new
one.
* Damaged pulley Replace the pulley with a
new one.
* Damaged blade Replace the blade with a
new one. (See page 47)
Cutter overloaded * Poor blade balance Replace the blade
with a new one or
balance the blade
properly. (See page 47)
* Low engine speed Increase engine speed
to maximum value.
(Check engine speed.)
* Operating speed too high Slow down operating speed.
* Grass accumulating or
coiling around blade
Clean blade.
