Overview

The KEQS08 is a single-phase control unit designed for various automated gate and door systems, including sliding gates, swing gates, roll-up doors, and rolling shutters, especially those equipped with an electrical lock and an encoder option. It operates on a 230Vac power supply and features an integrated 433.92 MHz radio receiver with obstacle detection capabilities.

Function Description:

The control unit manages the movement of an asynchronous, single-phase motor operating at 230Vac. It supports various operational modes, including automatic, semi-automatic, and condominium modes, which dictate how the gate responds to commands and handles automatic closing. The system incorporates safety features such as inputs for STOP buttons, photocells (PHOTO 1 and PHOTO 2), and limit switches (LSO and LSC) to prevent accidents and ensure safe operation. An encoder input allows for precise control of motor movement and obstacle detection. The unit also provides outputs for a 230Vac signal light or courtesy light, and power supplies for various accessories (12Vdc, 24Vac/dc). An electrical lock can be integrated, with options for 12Vac or 24Vac operation.

Remote Control Management:

The receiver supports 12-64 bit standard codes and HCS© rolling codes. The first learned transmitter determines the code type.

  • Full Cancellation of Memory: Press and hold CODICI button until LED L1 flashes, then release. Gate must be closed.
  • Rolling Code Activation/Deactivation:
    • Fixed code mode (L1 - one flash): Press and release CODICI, L1 lights up.
    • Rolling code mode (L1 - flashes twice): Press and release CODICI, L1 flashes and lights up. Press CODICI again, L1 flashes twice to activate rolling code counter.
  • Learning Remote Controls: Gate must be closed. Press and release CODICI (L1 lights up). Press the remote control button (L1 flashes if memorized). For partial opening, repeat with a different remote button.

Working Time Learning:

  • Standard Way: Set semi-automatic mode (DIP 1A OFF, DIP 2A ON, DIP 7B OFF). Put DIP 10A OFF. Press TEMPI (motor opens). Wait for first leaf to open (or press TEMPI to stop). Wait for desired pause time. Press TEMPI (motor closes). Wait for gate to close.
  • Partial Opening: Press and hold TEMPI until motor opens, then release. Press TEMPI (motor stops). Let pause time run. Press TEMPI (motor closes). Wait for gate to close (or until limit switch stops motor).
  • Pause (Easy Way): Press and release TEMPI (L.E.D. lights for opening/closing are LIT ON). Let new pause time run. Press TEMPI (gate closes, time learning completed).
  • Advanced System: Put DIP 10A ON. Press TEMPI (motor opens). Press TEMPI (motor opens slowly if slowing down activated). Press TEMPI (motor stops, pause time starts). Wait until motor stops (if limit switch available). Let pause time run. Press TEMPI (motor closes). Press TEMPI (motor closes slowly if slowing down activated). Press TEMPI (motor stops, advanced learning completed).

Adjustment of Trimmers:

  • FORZA (Force): Adjusts motor force from 20% to 100%.
  • V.RALL (Speed of Slowing Down): Adjusts slowing down speed (MINIMUM OFF deactivates). Best value is MIN to 4. To deactivate, turn trimmer to OFF.
  • BLOCK (Obstacle Detection): Adjusts force needed to stop motor. MIN requires little force, turning up requires more force. OFF deactivates the function.

Maintenance Features:

  • Checking Connections: LED L1 flashes each second to indicate correct working. Soft flashing indicates SAFETY EDGE input is not in standard mode. Red lights on inputs STOP, PHOTO, LSO, LSC are ON when contacts are closed. Green lights on START, PEDESTRIAN are OFF.
  • Reset of Memory at Factory Settings: Press CODICI and TEMPI buttons simultaneously (L1 lights ON). Wait 10 seconds until L1 switches OFF. Release buttons. This resets all parameters but does not cancel remote control codes.
  • Environmental Protection: The device should be disposed of separately from undifferentiated urban waste, following local regulations for electronic equipment recycling.

Safety Precautions:

  • Improper use or unauthorized repairs void the warranty.
  • All programming and maintenance services must be performed by qualified technicians.
  • The power supply line must be protected with a magnetic-thermal switch or 5A fuses. An earth leakage circuit breaker is recommended.
  • Ensure correct motor pole connections (OPEN/CLOSE) to prevent incorrect gate movement.
  • Safety devices require N.C. (normally closed) contacts. If multiple devices are used, connect them in parallel.
  • For encoder use, it is recommended to read the manual for correct implementation.
