22 Perform a Method
3. Following the instructions on the screen, lift the SMART 6 cover. Depending on the sample preparation desig-
nated for the product, center 1 or 2 CEM glass ber sample pads on the balance pan.
4. If necessary, select Sample ID to add a unique 24 character (maximum) ID for the sample being analyzed. If no
sample ID is entered, the system will automatically increment each new sample by 1.
5. Close the SMART 6 cover. Press the green TARE button on the screen.
WARNING
The cover of the SMART 6 will close on its own once the cover falls below a certain angle. Keep hands and
tools clear of the SMART 6 cavity when closing the cover.
