6.1 Basic information on administering OMEGA FLEX systems
Which transponder
technology does the
system support?
System range
The system range is the highest level of differentiation between OMEGA FLEX systems. It specifies
which locking media technology (LEGIC or MIFARE) is used in the system:

l
OMEGA FLEX LEGIC
Where are
authorisations
stored?
(only relevant for MIFARE
systems)
Operating mode
The operating mode specifies the location where authorisations for the locking media are stored.
There are two operating modes for OMEGA FLEX MIFARE systems:
LINE Authorisations are stored in the locking device
V-NET Authorisations are stored in the locking medium
Both of these operating modes can be combined within one OMEGAFLEXsystem.
How is the system
managed?
Type of administration
You can manage your system with different types of administration.
Available for OMEGAFLEXMIFARE in LINE operating mode and OMEGAFLEXLEGIC:
Offline with master
media
No software is used. Settings are transmitted to
the locking devices via master media.
Offline with RF-Stick Settings are specified in the OMEGA Client
software and transmitted to the locking devices
via an RF-Stick.
Online with wireless
online network
Settings are specified in the OMEGA Client
software and transmitted to the locking devices
via a wireless online network.
Available for OMEGAFLEXMIFARE in V-NET operating mode:
Virtual Settings are specified in the OMEGA Client
software and are transmitted to the locking
medium and not the locking device.
