6.2 Functions of OMEGA FLEX systems
OMEGAFLEXsystems offer many functions that cannot be provided by mechanical master key systems.
Which functions are available in your OMEGA FLEX system depends on the licence you obtain, the operating
mode (LINE or V-NET) and the type of administration.
Opening duration
The opening duration is the length of time for which the locking device remains coupled after
an authorised locking medium is held in the reading field of the locking device.
The longer the opening duration, the more time people have to operate the locking device
following authentication with a locking medium. The maximum opening duration is 180
seconds.
The opening duration can be set by means of the master media (see "Setting the opening
duration" on page67) and via the CEStronics Suite (Detailed instructions can be found in the
CEStronics Suite Help.).
Release mode and block mode
A locking device in release mode remains constantly coupled, i.e. the door can be opened at
any time without having to use a locking medium.
A locking device in block mode remains constantly uncoupled, i.e. the door cannot be opened.
Access is no longer possible, even with authorised locking media.
Details on this and other opening modes can be found in "Opening modes of the locking
devices" on page38.
Release and block modes are set by means of master media (see "Release mode" on page68
and "Block mode" on page70).
Time profiles
There are three types of time profiles:
1. Enable time profiles (up to three time windows for each weekday plus one special day
during which the locking device is released, i.e. can be opened at any time)
2. Block time profiles (up to three time windows per weekday plus one special day during
which the locking device is blocked, i.e. cannot be opened)
3. Up to 29 individual time profiles (each time profile has up to three time windows per
weekday plus one special day; a locking medium is only authorised to open the locking
device at the times set in the profiles)
Time profiles are set in the CEStronics Suite. Detailed instructions can be found in the
CEStronics Suite Help.
