air intake and air
leakage
Yes Go to step 7 4 Make engine run at idle speed, and stall cylinders
one by one to see if engine speed declines or
fluctuates.

Yes Go to next step 5 Set ignition switch in “ON”. Connect commutator
between ECU and wire harness, and then check to
see if the voltages of ECU’s intake manifold
absolute pressure sensor output, intake air
temperature sensor output, coolant temperature
sensor output, oxygen sensor output, electronic
ground, ignition switch pins as well as 57#, 58#,
64#, and 65# pins (output to idle speed actuator)
are in good order.
No Repair or replace
wire harness
Yes Go to next step 6 Make engine run at idle speed, and check to see if
ignition advance angle is normal after coolant
temperature reaches normal value.
No Check others
Yes Clean up 7 Check if sensing hole of intake manifold pressure
and intake air temperature sensor is blocked up.
No Go to next step
Yes Replace fuel 8 Check if fuel is deteriorated or contains water.
No Go to next step
Yes Go to next step 9 Provide 12V voltage directly from accumulator to
injector with special connector, and check if
injector is working in good order.
No Examine and repair
injector and
corresponding wire
harnesses
Yes Go to next step 10 Check to see if the high voltage line resistance of
each cylinder is in good order.
No Replace
Yes Replace 11 Check if ignition coil and high voltage line are
damaged or have crack.
