Installing an AC Power Cable in a Mini Chassis system
The following procedure explains how to install the AC power cable in a 3916
AC Mini or 3916 Dual AC Mini system.
Note: If you have a standard chassis system, see “Installing an AC Power
Cable in a Standard Chassis system” on page 2-30 instead.
Step Action
1 Plug the AC power cord into the receptacle on the front of the chassis.
Note: After it is installed, the power cord will be dressed to the left. It is not
appropriate to dress the power cord to the right, across the front of the

chassis.
2 Install the provided tie wrap to secure the power cable using the following
detailed instructions:
a. Thread the tie wrap through the anchor point to the left of the cord.
b. Wrap the tie wrap around the power cord plug base (see Figure 2-8 on
page 2-33).
c. Thread the tie wrap through the anchor point to the right of the cord.
d. Thread the tie wrap through the tail head and pull tight.
e. Trim off any excess tie wrap material.
WARNING
For pluggable equipment, the socket outlet shall be installed
near the equipment and be easily accessible.
