7. PREPARATION SAMPLES TO DRYING
Loose materials
They are dried in natural form or after comminution. Disintegration
sample makes dispersions between following measurements smaller. Mass
of ample cannot be too big. Surface of scale should be covered by thin
layer of sample.
Liquid
Semi – fluid substances are dried in constance they usually are.
Match amounts of grease in some substances make procedure of defining
moisture more difficult. In these cases use additional elements that enlarge
active surface of sample in which moisture is tested. To tested substamces
quartz sand or blotting-paper should be added. Before drying subtance
additional ingredients should be dried to lessen their moisture to 0.
Solids
Procedure of detecting moisture is slow or fast dependly on structure
of substance (dense, loose). Size of surface of solid has influence on
speed of drying and precision of measurement. Surface of substance
should the bigest as its possible. Solids emit moisture by outsider surface.
Thickness of sample is also very important
.
