INJECTION
ADJUSTING THE DELPHI MECHANICAL INJECTION PUMP CONTROLS
Engines : VJZ - VJY - VJX
ADJUSTING THE FAST IDLE
Engine cold.
- Ensure that the lever (1) is up against its stop to the right.
- If not, adjust the tension of the cable (3) using the cable clamp (2). (Tighten to 0.5 m.daN).
- Finish tensioning using the sleeve tensioner (4).
- Tighten the lock nuts to 1.7 m.daN.
Engine hot.
- Ensure that the cable (3) is slack.
- Check the operation of the thermostatic sensor on the coolant outlet housing.
- There should be a minimum 6 mm cable travel between "engine cold" and "engine hot".
- If this is not the case, replace the thermostatic sensor. Tighten to 2.5 m.daN.
