2.11 NT Support Software Diskette
The NT Support Software Diskette (SSD) is a set of Compaq-specific drivers that enable the Deskpro
4000S and 4000N Personal Computers to operate at optimum performance. Updates are available on
the Compaq Web site (http://www.compaq.com) and are also available through subscription to the
Compaq Support Software CD.
NT SSD installation program automatically detects the components on a Deskpro 4000S and 4000N
Personal Computers and determines if the drivers need to be updated.
When you service a Deskpro 4000S or 4000N Personal Computer, make sure that it is running the
latest version of the NT SSD drivers for optimum performance. To determine the version of NT SSD
installed on the computer, use the Version Control task in Insight Manager, or look at the version in
the file properties of the SETUPAPP.EXE file in the \winnt\system32\cpqntssd directory.
2.12 Prefailure Warranty
The Prefailure Warranty is standard for select components for all Compaq Deskpro 4000S and
4000N Series of Personal Computers. It extends the Compaq three-year, limited warranty by
applying it to critical system components before they actually fail. The Prefailure Warranty ensures
that when you receive notification of a prefailure condition through Compaq Insight Manager, the
component will be replaced under warranty.
The Compaq Deskpro 4000S and 4000N Series of Personal Computers components covered by the
Prefailure Warranty are:
