Compat Ella

is a small, lightweight and portable rotary peristaltic pump used to deliver programmed amounts of enteral tube feed at selectable delivery rates to
the gastrointestinal system. The pump should be used only after proper training regarding care, use and maintenance of the Compat Ella
®
pump and accessories.
1.1 Intended Use
The Compat Ella
®
enteral feeding pump is intended to be used for the delivery of enteral tube feed and hydration at controlled rates to the gastrointestinal
system. It is intended for use with adult and pediatric patients requiring enteral feeding and hydration in hospital, nursing home and home care environments.

2. Safety Information
Read the entire Manual before operating the Compat Ella
®
pump.
Read the entire administration set IFU (Instructions for Use) before installing an administration set in the Compat Ella

pump.

2.1 Warnings and Precautions
Warnings:
• Not for intravenous use. For enteral use only.
• If pump is damaged or altered, do not use it.
• Make sure power cord plug is completely dry before and during use.
• Do not attempt to attach the “country specific” AC adapter to AC power without it attached to the AC adapter body.
• Do not use in the presence of flammable anesthetics or other flammable gases (including enriched oxygen environments), near flammable fluids or objects,
or in the presence of oxidizing agents.
• During pump start up, confirm all the screen segments are visible. If any are missing or if the screen is not readable, do not use the pump.
• When turning the pump on, if you do not hear the tones, do not use the pump.
• Use only prescribed enteral tube feed supplied by a qualified healthcare professional and hydration fluids such as water, tea.
• Use only Compat Ella
®
administration sets.
• Inspect the Compat Ella
®
administration set. Do not use if damaged or altered.
