Appendix A Signal Connectors
Isolation
All the signal connections are isolated from the
powercircuits by basic insulation only. Ensure that all
external control circuits are separated from human
contact by at least one layer of insulation rated for use
at the AC supply voltage.
A.1 Cables and connectors
RJ45 connectors
For connection to the following connectors on the Drive...

Up to four twisted-pairs having an overall braided shield (unused
wires must not be connected to pins at the other end)

braided shield, fold
the strands back

good electrical
contact with the
clamp.
Ordering signal cables
Cables of the required lengths and fitted with RJ45 connectors as
required are supplied by Control Techniques Dynamics Ltd. For
ordering, create the required order code (see below) and contact the
supplier of the Drive.
The order code is constructed as follows:
Details of the code are shown below.
Wait 30 seconds after removing power to the Drive
before inserting or removing control cables as ‘hot
plugging’ cables can result in damage to the Drive or
SLM.
